I am Koen Dekker, an animator from the Netherlands. I have a passion for storytelling and all kinds of animation. I specialize in 2D animation, which I make in TVPaint, but I also have experience as a video editor and compositor. Software experience includes After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Blender.

Ongezellig
I was an animator on the show Ongezellig. I contributed to the animation, coloring and shading of parts 3 to 6
Animowtion
I was hired by Sara 'Serval' Fisher to make an animation about their crazy lil cat character Mow.

CMyLife
In my time as Lead Animator at Kindermedicijn, I was the sole animator of these videos. I also illustrated most of the assets seen in the videos. These videos are owned by CMyLife and produced by Kindermedicijn B.V., a company I worked at for over a year and I contributed to a big database of small animations and illustrations for them to use in their animated medical prescriptions.

eWarehousing
A Dutch explanimation about ecommerce. I helped with animating a bunch of the characters and scenes, including the intro with the cat, the ending with the guy in the chair and the entire warehouse scene with the conveyor belt.
Hersendood
A Dutch explanimation about organ donation and braindeath. I animated multiple characters, including the patient on the operating table and the characters at the end.
Blue Skies and Weather Changes
A group project with Tessie Wijhers and Yara Henning. We made a music video for the band Baking Buddha. The song is called 'Blue Skies and Weather Changes'.
Controle
This graduation film was made in collaboration with children from primary school. I taught a drawing workshop to them and constructed the story from what they drew. Any other drawings, like inbetweens, were made by me to bridge the events together. I did the video and audio editing completely by myself.
This short film was selected for the Kaboom Animation Festival in April 2021
